Starting small
The first thing I suggest you do is to start small with the tasks that need to be completed.
Being overwhelmed is a very real feeling that can get the best of many people.
You make things much easier on yourself and your mental by choosing to engage with work that you’re positive you can do.
This method will set you up well with starting and completing things.
What that does is help you build your confidence all the way up to a point where you can complete much larger tasks.
Reducing That Feeling of Self Consciousness
Next thing you’re gonna do is focus on doing what you can to reduce a feeling of being self conscious.
I usually would encourage more people to get more self aware, and you should, but self consciousness in this regard is working against you.
You’re likely dealing with an issue in where this particular feeling holds you back from executing.
It’s a form of anxiety that has you worrying too much about criticism.
To an extent it makes you focus more on what others are doing and how they’re going to react to what it is that you have to do.
I get over this feeling by zeroing in more on what my overall priority is at the moment.
If I care more about a specific individual, it makes everything else that everyone wants or has to say about my mission irrelevant.
Embracing The Concept of Accountability
Last is to do exactly what the title suggests —embrace accountability more into your life.
When you’re accountable for the things you need done in your life, it reduces the option of placing the blame on others.
This is needed all throughout your life. It affects your work ethic, personal life, and anything else you could possibly think of.
Accountability in essence is taking ownership of anything that usually has to be done anyway.
If you adopt being accountable and apply it to your tasks, you’re forced to finish everything whether you have help or not.
It’s a mindset that I adopted relatively early in life and it’s been a difference maker in all of the successes I’ve had up to this point.
You’re gonna realize you’re accountable when you can break down the “why” of the task that needs to be completed.
If you can continually explain to yourself why something has to be done without the need of anyone else that may be depended on it getting completed, you’re going to make more productive strives to its completion.
