We’re already on the back half of 2026, and because of that, I wanna address goals that was set and that could be pursued before this year ends.
Here’s 3 of my own Self Improvement Goals for 2026:
Getting More Quality Sleep
Getting quality sleep is a goal of mine because I feel as if I don’t get enough of it consistently. There’s moments when I will get the recommended 8 hours or so in a day, but most of the time I’ll get 4 or 5 hours at best. If I do get 8 it’s because I’m sleeping in broken moments throughout the day, mainly from exhaustion.
It’s a real struggle because it doesn’t allow me to operate at a maximum efficiency. There’s too much of a sluggish feeling that’s felt throughout the entire day. Going to events feel like more of a drag, there’s a chance that I’m having less patience for the people around me, and everything just feels torturous!
Not all’s lost though, because I’ve been working on having a hard stop when it comes to doing my work. 2 am is when I’m usually stopping the work I’m doing. That might not sound like much progress for many people, but it is for me.
Helping Retire 1 Person in Home Care
Random enough to say, but yeah, my goal is to help 1 person leave their job that’s in home care. I do this line of work myself, and have been doing so for at least the past 2 years. It’s something that’s highly demanding and requires a high amount of patience just to last for the long haul.
Needless to say, this is a job that isn’t fun! I’m speaking from my own experience, so I’m sure that there’s other people who absolutely dread having to do this work. There’s diaper changes that have to be done, doctor visits, food that has to be served, and probably the least amount of time for yourself that you’re gonna find in a job.
I bring all of that up because I’m challenging my sense of calling to entrepreneurship by helping someone else leave this life. It’s a lot more common of a profession than many would likely know. And because I’m involved in creative activities, it’s something that I truly believe helps tolerate this kind of work. Not everyone gets that luxury, and I can’t assume more people wanna make music over creating their own type of job essentially. But all of that’s said to simply share, that I have a goal of helping someone leave an in home care job if they’re trying to do so.
Becoming a Better Leader
Last is becoming a better leader. This isn’t something that everyone is, and because of that, there’s a chance that we have people in our social groups who aren’t exactly helping us be the absolute best we can all the time. Leadership is something that I’ve had in my life when I was around elders, but I can’t say that was always the case when I was just with peers. That’s problematic too, because choosing to limit myself was always exactly what I said— a choice.
Nobody was as likable as I was and able to keep that leadership edge that would take us further than where we were at in the moment. In result we’d get in trouble over clearly stupid things, not much change that benefited us as much as it could’ve been happened, and we probably put negative stigmas on our demographic because we weren’t being very transcendent with our capabilities.
I still consider myself to be somewhat young and able to influence the generation I’m in as well as everybody below mine. There’s even a chance that we could impose a more renewed kind of thinking and action to take with the gens above us as well. It has to start with keeping leadership cool though. It’s gonna call for taking more opportunities to enact personal development and share it with our peers. This is actually why I wanna become a better leader for the most part.
