What are five exercises that can be done at home? Here’s 5 You Can Do Today)

What are five simple exercises to do at home?

  • Pushups
  • Squats
  • Going for a stroll around the area
  • Pull Ups
  • Stretching
Why Do I Like Doing Pushups?

I prefer pushups because it takes care of all of your upper body regimens generally speaking.

If we only look at the physical benefits it can do, that seems like a pretty fair deal.

Just keep pushing the ground that’s below you away from your chest.

It was probably the first exercise I ever learned to do and it hasn’t failed me since.

It’s part of what I was expected to do when I was an NCAA athlete, and that’s at the recommendation of a champion in every sense of the word.

Why do I Like Doing Squats as Part of My Workout Routine?

I’ll be honest in admitting that I’m actually not too crazy over doing squats, but the benefits it brings is undeniable.

I prefer workout that can just be done in repetition instead of having to scroll through an abnormally large list of different ones.

My mentors with working out would constantly remind me that squats are probably the best thing you can do to get stronger overall.

I just viewed it as a leg workout and nothing much past that. Again, things changed when I started working out for competitive purposes.

My coaches would constantly have workouts that included some variant of this exercise.

It might’ve been buddy carries one day, and Bulgarian split-squats the next.

If you’re generally in good health, it’s a standard workout to do if you want to gain real strength.

Why have I already walked over 1000 miles so far in 2026 with 3 months still left?

You got that right! I’m actually in my 2nd year of walking over 1000 miles in a calendar year. The crazy thing is that a majority of that activity was simply around my own neighborhood.

Most people wouldn’t even believe that if I didn’t have proof. Why did I even log how much walking I’ve done?

I have the company Apple to thank for that one. Most devices they create have the fitness app, and if you’re someone that eventually explores it, you can see that it has a digital pedometer.

I took things a little further and set an amount of calories I’d like burned daily. It worked out great because I’m competitive, and what better competition than whoever I was yesterday?

To stick with the point, I would just constantly look to meet my daily goal and eventually it turned into a habit and I got 1000 miles before I even knew it.

I appreciate that workout because it feels effortless. It’s mainly mental to tell yourself daily to go outside and get some steps in.

I also do home care, so I’ll even double what I would normally do for myself in assistance with helping a client that’s bedridden.

Why Do I Like Doing Pull Ups?

I sound childish with this right? Who cares! I’m talking about that workout where there’s usually a bar of some sort and elevating yourself up from gravity to a certain point.

This is another workout of mine that feels pretty easy in thought, but enough of a challenge to where I would confidently do them in public.

Can you believe actually that a national wrestling tournament I’d go to every year during my high school years would have a challenge going on while the athletes were competing in where there was a pull up challenge? Just a fun fact for reference. And it was hosted by the U.S. Army!

A preference for that workout by one of the standard combat groups globally seems good enough for me, so why not you?

Why Would I Choose Stretching as one of My Workouts?

We’re still talking about doing workouts at home right? Then this is one of the absolute easiest workouts you can do!

It’s like one of the very first workouts you do when you wake up.

It’s natural in a sense that it’s one of the things our bodies communicates with our brain to do in attempts to feel better.

That’s what a workout should help us do: feel better.

Most people that’s probably looking to do an at home workout may feel limited to options and belief that what they’re doing will get results, but believe me as someone who feels they have a relatively decent body would say stretching can absolutely help you get in shape.

Your body starts stretching limbs and such that are probably stiff.

You might not get actual strength from doing these, but I can say from experience that it gets you feeling active enough to maybe try something a little more challenging.

It might even be better to have this be a pre-workout like I would do with my college sports team. It’s at least worth considering.
