What are some easy DIY crafts to make at home?

Painted rocks, mason jar luminaires, and no-sew fabric coasters and making paper Shuriken.

What can I tell you about painted rocks?

There’s not a whole lot to say about painted rocks. They’re just a safe canvas to color with essentially.

I like the thought of doing that more than something as basic as construction paper or the traditional coloring book.

There’s arts and crafts in working with those 2 canvases, but not as much with rocks!

You can grab some cool looking ones from a local beach or even the decorative rocks you got in your grandma’s front porch.

What would I make with a mason jar?

Mason jars can be manipulated into the same kind of platforms that I would imagine a diorama being.

The closest thing to it that I got to do with this kind of project could be catching a grasshopper that was outside.

Since I’m doing this on a project you can do at home, I’d say to look at making a sea monkey cage. Throw a little water maybe rocks.

You can maybe even mimic a snow globe and throw things like glitter or plastic nic-nacs to shoot for a specific theme.

How creative can you get with making no-sew fabric coasters?

This surprisingly might be the best thing I could make if I were to just create out of the blue.

All you need is a circular platform that could form the same look of a coaster. Maybe go with a mini frisbee or the lid of candle holster.

You’re gonna wrap it with some clothes you don’t mind wasting. Caution: you’re probably gonna need scissors to get that clean cut.

I’d say go for something with a plaid look to have it stand out.

You’re gonna wrap it around the surface that takes the shape of a coaster and seal it with glue ideally, but tape should work too.

And find a way to laminate it so you can hold condensation on the custom coaster confidently.

How did I come up with making paper shuriken?

This is an idea that I came up with after deciding to explore some DIY crafts that you can do from home.

I remembered that I had an instructional guide from a magazine I’d always get called Shonen Jump.

My favorite manga they would carry was Naruto.

They kept the magazine fun and one thing that was shared in one of their issues was learning how to build your own shuriken like in the story!
